バンレイシ科は、約2400種が知られており(Guo et al.,2017)、モクレン目では最大の科です。バンレイシ(釈迦頭)、ポポー、チェリモヤなど、有用種も多数含まれるのですが、熱帯起源のため本州の路地で見かけることはありません。写真もイランイランノキが数枚だけでした。
