ジンチョウゲ科(Thymelaeaceae)は、2亜科、45属、800～900種で構成されていて、ジンチョウゲ連(Daphneae)が科内で最大のグループです。最近の遺伝子を利用した解析(Qian et al.,2021;Lee et al.,2022)によると、属間の入れ子が多数確認されていますので、属レベルでの再構成が予測されるグループでもあります。
