アリノトウグサ科(Haloragaceae)は、全世界の多様な環境に分布しますが、その分布の中心はオーストラリアです(Moody and Les,2007)。日本国内では、アリノトウグサ属(Haloragis)とフサモ属(Myriophyllum)が自生しますが、写真は帰化種のオオフサモ(Myriophyllum aquaticum)だけでした。
