キブシ科(Stachyuraceae)は、1属のみからなる科で、かつてはAPG体系では廃止となったスミレ目に配されていました(APG-II,2003)。日本国内ではキブシ(Stachyurus praecox)が普通種として自生します。Su et al.(2020)の最近の解析結果によれば、キブシ属内に5つのクレードが認められているのですが、少なくとも日本国内に自生するキブシ類は1種のみと考えてよいようです。
