キキョウ科(Campanulaceae)は、Christenhusz and Byng(2016)によれば、81属約2300種とされているのですが、科の範囲も含めて必ずしも確定しておらず、未だにミゾカクシ亜科(Lobelioideae)を科として認めるなどの異説が少なからずあるようです(Liveri et al.,2019)。
